Why I Hate The Occupy Protests

Well, I now have a reason to truly hate the occupy protests. They've ruined one of my favorite songs for me. The other day I was listening to Thin Lizzy's "The Emerald" from their Jailbreak album and it occured to me how much occupy protesters channel this song. In case you're not familiar, here are the lyrics;

Down from the glen came the marching men
With their shields and their swords
To fight the fight they believed to be right
Overthrow the overlords

To the town where there was plenty
They brought plunder, swords and flame
When they left the town was empty
Children would never play again

From their graves I heard the fallen
Above the battle cry
By that bridge near the border
There were many more to die

Then onward over the mountain
And outward towards the sea
They had come to claim the Emerald
Without it they could not leave

In order to reclaim the sanctity of these lyrics from them, I created new ones to express my feelings about the occupy protests and protesters.

Down from the dumps came the chanting chumps
with their tents and their iPods
to demand the right to be communist shi'ites
and overthrow the capitalist norms

To the city where there was plenty
They brought rape, murder and shame
if they ever would leave the park
Children might get to play again

From their tents I heard the morons
above the cries of the destitute
By that fancy chow tent near the corner
"Go somewhere else to starve and die!"

Then onward over the expressway
and outward towards Wall Street
They had come to destroy America
without doing so they refuse to leave
